Abstract:

 

External quality control samples and internal quality control samples were prepared for external quality assessment scheme, with particular emphasis for blood lead analysis in research laboratories in Thailand. The preparation, assigned values and assessment of performance were given in detail. The analysis assessment was evaluated based on Surrey’s and US. OSHA system. According to the record on performance of participating laboratories of the University of Surrey, 7 laboratories out of 25 passed the score, It the assessment based on the US. OSHA, 13 laboratories out of 25 stayed within the range limits. Problem related to the assigned value for external quality control samples were discussed.
